Pain de Vie is a Christian nonprofit organization committed to providing hope and economic
opportunity to the most disadvantaged people of West Africa through hunger relief, small business enterprises
and training.
The larger bakery employs Africans in the production of bread, which is distributed from the bakery itself and
in small kiosks throughout the city. These micro-businesses are key distribution points, which not only make bread
available to more Africans, but also provide more people with an economic opportunity to support themselves.
Pain de Vie has teamed up with Prison Fellowship International to
offer this small business opportunity to ex-offenders and their families. Many of these ex-offenders are women,
whose only other option for supporting themselves is a life of prostitution and destitution.
